The Final Module of the semester is an opportunity to apply all of the concepts explored in course instruction by viewing a play.
If you were unable to view LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at Morehead State University, you may:
a.) View a Profesional Production and complete the question prompt below
b.) View a play online, and write a Theatre Critique
A. Professional Plays can be viewed at The Actors Theatre of Louisville, Cincinnati Playhouse, The Goodman Theatre, or a theatre equivalent. Viewing a professional live theatre production is an opportunity to explore theatre from an audiences’ perspective. It also provides a clear look into persons pursing theatre full-time. The work should be polished, innovative, and should display a high level of expertise. This is the optimal experience for persons enrolled into an Introduction to Theatre course.
However, to accommodate all schedules, there are three Audience Alternative options for your viewing pleasure.
If you are able to view a professional show experience:
A.) Please upload a copy of your program and ticket stub to Blackboard
B.) Also, in 250 words, please provide a short synopsis of your experience using the Critical Criteria found on page 40.
- What was being attempted?
- Have the intentions been achieved?
- Was the attempt worthwhile?
B. Below is an alternative to the Assignment:
If you are not able to travel and view a professional show, please view the film version of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS below and write a 5-10 paper covering your experiences. Please use the Guide to Writing a Theatre Critique (found in this digital booklet and posted in a PDF document via Blackboard)
If you are unable to access a paid site above, a free high school version is available via YouTube as an alternative.

b.) If you are unable to attend a live performance, please view the Film Version of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS as the Second Alternative and submit a 5-10 page review.
c.) If you are unable to access the film version notes above, please view the Youtube version as a last resort and submit a 5-10 page review.
Guide to Writing a Theatre Critique
Note: In order to receive credit, please make certain to include a program and ticket stub with your submission. Please submit via Blackboard. Please contact Professor Izlar if you should have difficulty.
1. Thesis Statement

a. Was the synopsis used as an effective foundation and/or lever for discussion points?
3. History of play
a. Other works of playwright (yes) (no)
